The Open Streets movement also creates amazing spaces for business, where informal sellers and local stores can benefit of the new influx of people. Big brands are also taking advantage on that. As sponsors of these experiments, they can display their products and create new experiences with the public. In the same Paulista Avenue of the previous post, the Bradesco bank helps to turn 124 km of city streets into bikelanes on Sundays. The project also creates two bike sharing pop up spots where the population can rent bikes for free.
Public and private together. What do you think about brands sponsoring street experiments? Is it good, bad, or just necessary? ©Movimento Conviva
