Lonsdale Avenue

North Vancouver, Canada ,

Is this a good way of making use of car parking spaces?
On Lonsdale Avenue in the City of North Vancouver a pilot project gave businesses the opportunity to swap 8 parking spaces for increased outside dining areas during the summer. Many restaurant owners have hence increased their capacity, resulting in financial benefit and higher footfall.

It is often argued that businesses would be negatively impacted by changes in streetscaping and car access. Do experimental and new configurations also benefit business?
